Hello. I’m John.

I’ve been writing professionally for nearly fifteen years.

From 2013-2019 I was an in-house writer at Facebook and Instagram, first launching the Facebook Business blog and then working as a creative copywriter.

In those years I learned from a bunch of very smart marketers, creatives, and product people. I also had a front-row seat for the company’s tremendous growth, and came away with a unique understanding of the challenges and opportunities companies face as they scale.

I hold an MFA in Design Criticism from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. I promise, this is a real degree and not something I made up just to sound fancy.

My wife and I recently moved from San Francisco to New York’s Hudson Valley. We bought an old farmhouse with a big red barn in the back. I have no idea what to do with a barn.
